What’s different from Pro

  • Single-tenant VPS.Your database doesn’t share resources with other DBHost customers.
  • Dedicated AMD cores.No noisy neighbours and predictable performance — Hetzner’s CCX line gives one vCPU per physical CPU thread.
  • Custom DPA + named sub-processor list. Hetzner replaces AWS Lightsail as the tenant-database sub-processor, and you get a counter-signed DPA that names exactly the processors involved.
  • 24-hour support responseon top of Hetzner’s 24/7 infrastructure support.
  • Dedicated subdomain. Connect via <customer>.dbhost.app on a static IP that belongs to your instance.

Sizing

All tiers run Hetzner CCX (dedicated AMD vCPU) in HEL1 (Helsinki). Storage is local NVMe SSD on the VPS; logical backups are written off-host to encrypted S3 in eu-north-1.

Infrastructure details

  • Hetzner CCX in HEL1 (Helsinki). EU data residency by default. We can quote FSN1 (Falkenstein) or NBG1 (Nuremberg) on request.
  • C5 BSI certification (German federal compliance baseline) and 99.9% uptime SLAfrom Hetzner — DBHost’s SLA passes through theirs.
  • Newest AMD silicon.Hetzner ships CCX on their latest-generation AMD platform; you don’t share cycles with other customers.
  • Daily encrypted logical backups to S3 eu-north-1, retained for 30 days. On-demand backups available on request.
  • 24/7 infrastructure support from Hetzner backs the VPS itself. DBHost responds to product questions and incidents within 24 hours.

What we don’t promise yet

We’d rather tell you up-front than oversell. The following are roadmap items, not Dedicated-tier guarantees today:

  • Point-in-time recovery (PITR) / WAL-G. Backups are daily logical snapshots; we restore to the most recent snapshot, not to an arbitrary timestamp.
  • Read replicas. Single-instance only today.
  • Automated failover.Failover is operator-run with a documented runbook; we’ll tell you the recovery time on the call.

When you ask for a quote, we’ll be transparent about current availability and expected timelines for any of the above.
